What this page is
Coast FIRE is a static web page: a few files and nothing else. There is no server behind it, no accounts, no analytics, no ads and no cookies. All the math runs in your browser.
What is sent anywhere
Nothing. The numbers you type (salaries, contributions, other investing, balances, ages) never leave your device. The page loads no fonts, scripts or images from other sites. Links to sources (IRS, BLS, Kitces and others) only open when you tap them.
What is kept on your device
Your browser remembers the numbers you last entered, so they're still there next time. "Reset to defaults" (the circular-arrow button at the top, or the button below the inputs) erases them, with an Undo. Clearing this site's data in your browser settings does the same.
For offline use, your browser also keeps a copy of this page's own files (not your numbers).
Links to a scenario
Your numbers go into a link only when you press "Copy link" (the chain button at the top, or the button below the inputs). They are put in the part of the address after the #, which browsers don't send to any server. But whoever opens that link sees those numbers, including both partners' salaries, so share it only if you mean to.
Opening someone else's link shows their numbers without replacing yours. Yours stay saved until you edit the shared numbers or press "Keep these".
Hosting
The files are served by Cloudflare Pages. As with any website, the host can see that the page was requested, but not anything you type into it.
